GiGi, my mother, sent Pea a book today called “Good Night Chicago.” I sat in the room with my husband as he was reading it to Pea at bedtime and I can’t believe how much I miss living in Chicago. It was such a sweet book and it brought back so many happy memories of my childhood. I’ve only taken Pea to Chicago once, when she was 11-months old, and Coco hasn’t been at all. I was hoping to take Coco with me this fall but now I really, really want to take Pea with me, because I think she’s old enough now to enjoy so many of the places that were special to me as a kid… Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Pea’s first visit to Chicago, at 11-months. Of course, GiGi took her “antiquing” and bought her that little vintage white wicker rocking chair.

And here is Pea with her Tio Pablo, who just doted on her the entire trip. (Cue Barbra Streisand’s “Memories…”)
Yes, we must get back to Chicago soon for another visit.
