I am the mother of 3 girls - and I too, have been through the whole family vacation thing-many times! It is a wonderful experience for all - no schedules, no clock to follow - believe me your children will remember all the special vacation moments forever. But, on the other hand, my husband turned 40 and we finally took the step to go away alone-to an island- with another couple. With the help of my wonderful mother and aunt, I have to say , we were nervous about leaving, but when we arrived...... no worries! We were able to wake up real late ( 8:30 ha) , take real long to get dressed up and do make up, and in general be a grown-up again. It's fun to stay out late, and go have drinks, dance, take late nite walks on the beach, and spend some real alone time together. It has lingering effects that last a good month upon your return home! Of course, I missed my chicks and couldn't wait to hug, kiss and smell them-but I will always cherish my little bit of me time!
