my favorite things

One of my favorite things about being mommy to two little girls is dressing them. I just can’t get enough of the adorable clothing that’s out there. And I’m all too happy to spend a little extra for quality, and so continues my love affair with Mini Boden. Their stuff is incredible. It’s gorgeous fabrics, adorable prints, high quality and they do something with their sizing (and I’ve noticed this with other European kids-wear designers, as well) that makes their clothing truly clothing to grow into rather than out of. And they just started making a line for little babies, too, which up until now had been my only complaint – they weren’t shrinking their line enough for tiny tots!

I ordered a couple of things for Pea for the fall, including this jacket and these ballet shoes (leopard print! my favorite!) and I keep pulling them out of her closet to admire them, excited myself for the weather to turn a little cooler so she can put them to good use.

And for Coco, I found her this adorable little jacket.

This stuff holds up really well, and that means that some of Pea’s older pieces I was able to put away for Coco to wear later on. That alone makes it worth the price, knowing that it’s not disposable clothing, it’s quality clothing that can be passed on to younger siblings.

I find that their sizes for kids are pretty accurate, when my daughter was 14 months she was wearing their pants in a size 12-18 months (and she is tall). They are cut a little on the larger side so that they fit until that latter age of the size, but I’ve also found that to be common with most European sizing (like Hanna Anderson). But I see on their site that their 12-18 is 32.5 in height and the 18-24 is 35.5. Personally, I would order true-to-size (18-24) because my daughter grows at warp speed, and I hate it when she outgrows something too quickly, but it seems your daughter is right in-between the two sizes, so she might get some good wear out of the 12-18 (she seems tall & thin from your measurements). Your best bet? Email their customer service – they are awesome. Hope this helps!

    Hi,

I have a question about Mini Boden sizing. My daughter is 18 months (31.5 inches long and 22lbs). What size should I order for her 12-18 or 18-24 months? I want her to be able to wear the clothes now and don’t want the pants super long.

    Thansk,
    JZ
