Last full day of vacation. We came up here with a specific amount of cash, to avoid that dreadful feeling we’ve had before, you know the one: you return home from vacation, receive the American Express bill and think “holy heck, what did we do?” So this time, being the budget Goddess that I am, I figured out a more-than-fair amount of cash we would need, and when it was gone, we were going to be done. Only it wasn’t gone, so we headed over to REI, which is my husband’s “happiest place on earth,” to see if there was anything he couldn’t live without.
We ended up blowing the rest of our alloted money on a couple of bags for him by Keen. I love Keen. They make some of the coolest “athletic” shoes around. And I had no idea that they also made bags. My husband travels a lot, all over the world. And by a lot, I mean sometimes he will be on up to 8 flights in one week, jetting from Texas to the East Coast and then off to Germany or Hong Kong or Hawaii or anywhere else you could possibly imagine, and then back home, only to start all over in a couple of days. So, the way women have a wardrobe of shoes? He has a wardrobe of travel bags. Each trip is different, and requires a different type of bag. Sometimes he’s in need of a backpack. Other times, a messenger will do. And we found both by Keen. Possibly the coolest bags ever.

Hi Melissa!
I just stumbled upon your blog via a sidebar link in my gmail. I am the mother of 2 as well (girl almost 3 and boy 17 months). We live in MA about 45 minutes outside of Boston.
I read through a few of your blog entries and giggled a lot and found that I feel the same way about a lot of Mommy and other stuff that you do! I can totally appreciate your story about taking your oldest to the circus and leaving your baby with a sitter…I can *barely* bring myself to leave my kids with sitters even though it’s necessary sometimes! I also have a lipgloss/balm obsession =) I’m a former MAC addict but don’t have time to get to the MAC counter anymore (nor the money to spend there) but I do find that I cherish even the cheap balms and glosses now! Lip Medex is my go to! hehehehe…
Anyway – I hope that you don’t mind the rambling but it’s sometimes hard to find other Mothers that are similar to you so I guess I wanted to say thanks for writing and putting it all out there! Great blog! I look forward to reading more!
Have a great day!
=)
