my favorite things

I used to be a magazine addict. I had a subscription to every conceivable one out there, from “The Week” to “Us” to “Town & Country” to “Vogue.” But when Pea came along, I found it really difficult to actually find any time to sit down and read a magazine from cover to cover, and so realizing that all of these subscriptions were a colossal waste of money, I didn’t renew the majority of them. Among those that I kept were: “Us,”"Real Simple,”"Cooking Light,” and “Prevention.” There are a few others out there that we get for free, or that I receive as a gift, but these are the ones that I felt it was worth it to continue to subscribe to. But lately, the one magazine I’m finding I can’t live without is called “Blueprint” and it’s from Martha Stewart and her lifestyle geniuses. And this magazine is awesome. It covers everything – beauty, clothing, health, food. You name it and there’s a section devoted to it. It really is a lifestyle guide, which I’m all about. I love anything that can be wrapped up in the guise of a chic and current lifestyle. The only thing wrong with this magazine? It comes out every two months, which is a long time to wait for a new issue when you’ve completely devoured the current one. I’m hoping they figure that out (perhaps from the plethora of emails I’ve been sending them, begging them to make it a monthly?) and increase their publication to each and every month… That would be nice.

I also loved Blueprint- I bought every single one! It seems they are no longer making this mag. It makes me want to cry! I found a somewhat similar mag called ReadyMade and it’s really good too.

Hi there! I was just reading my email & saw a link to you in the google ads. What a lovely blog you’ve got going here!

My husband makes fun of me for getting magazines- “all that kind of stuff is on the internet now you know?” But I love packing around a magazine, sitting on the couch, outside or wherever & taking my time paging through it.

You can donate old magazines to women’s shelters, jails, beauty salons, doctors offices, vet offices, health & welfare offices, etc. And here, they even take them in the weekly recycling pickup. I always cut off my name & address label first tho.

I love looking at fashion & perfume magazine ads. LOL. They are so much better than the flashy animated things you get all over the internet.

And I agree, Blueprint totally needs to come out every month!
