tag, i’m it

Mango Mama, over at Living Out Loud Now, tagged me to do this “meme” thing. I’m not entirely clear on what it is, or how and where it started, but I’ve seen it on a lot of the blogs that I read regularly. I have to admit, being tagged by someone whom I admire is kind of flattering – I feel like I’ve been invited to eat at the “cool” table in the high school cafeteria. I always find it amusing to read little known tidbits about other women who keep blogs, so I’m going to jump onboard and share 7 little known tidbits about myself…

1) I do not wear socks. I do not like socks. I wish I could give a rational explanation as to why I have such an aversion to them, but I cannot. I will say, however, that in my perfect world I would be barefoot. All the time.

2) I cannot stop smelling my daughter’s heads. They smell so lovely… of coconut and jasmine and lavender.

3) My favorite food is cheese. Any kind. The stinkier the better. If it were socially acceptable, I would eat nothing but cheese for the rest of my life.

4) I am quite possibly the most impatient person you will ever come across. It is my sincere hope that you never have to get in a car with me when I am doing the driving.

5) I am adopted, as is my brother. I hail from Philadelphia. He came to us from Bogota, Columbia. His name is Pablo. I’m often jealous that he has such an exotic name and I got stuck with a name that was on the Top 10 Girl’s Names of the 1970′s. How boring.

6) I used to work for MTV Networks. Before I became a wife and mother. I do not miss it. Not one bit.

7) Under extreme stress, I bite my nails. Gross, I know.

And now, I will “tag” 7 people that I’d like to learn 7 things about. I apologize in advance if you’ve already been tagged. It just means that I haven’t read you long enough to know that. And if you just have a dislike to the whole thing, please disregard. Oh, and don’t be mad at me. I’m nosy.

So, with no further hesitation, these are some people who I’d love to tag…

Everyday Yogini
Latte Mommy
Meredith at Paper Canteen
Tara at Jimenezoo
Tanyetta at Days Like These

All right, technically that’s only 5 gals and not 7. I hope this isn’t like a chain letter and that I’m not going to have 7 years of bad luck now. But I’m going to cross my fingers, anyway. Just in case…

Someone else who also has an aversion to socks… and shoes, too. She’s definitely my kid.

Blogging totally is the “peeping tom” of the internet. But I agree I’m totally fascinated by reading the lives of others. And I’m equally fascinated that they actually want to read about my world too!

Sorry for the exceedingly late response, Melissa, but I’m honored by your tag. It’s fun to get to know people this way. Blogging is a little like voyeurism, but socially acceptable. I think that’s why we all like it so much!

Anyway, I answered your tag on my blog today. Read and enjoy!

The darling little Pea doesn’t look under-nourished at all for being on a popscicle diet. She actually looks a little pudgy, maybe like her Jewish momma? Hope the spiritual journey works for you. You will find that your Jewish roots will lead you directly to your husband’s Christian roots: center being Yeshua/Jesus. You can’t have one without the other. Keep searching; you will find. Then the role of mother will fall right into place for you; that of being a servant.

Thanks for tagging me, Melissa… I love reading these little-known facts about people! Instead of talking about my frosting problem, I can now do this! YEAH!

What shampoo do you put on those little girls heads that they smell so lovely??

    Hey Melissa!

Thanks for tagging me! I LOVE these kinds of things! I only know a couple of blogging ladies but hopefully they’ll play along, too!

Hope you’re having a great night.

    =)

Melissa, You and me, we’re apart of a blogging revolution and in this new world order there’s no cool table, like I said in my profile, ultimately, we’re all in this together. Everyday I’m totally jazzed to see what’s going on in your world, with your beautiful family and I’m never disappointed. I really appreciate the generosity of your spirit. Peace! mango mama
