We are nothing if not readers in this house. And although my novel consumption has decreased drastically in the years since becoming a mom, I have definitely made up for it with my passion for children’s books. I love them. Classics. Board books. Classic board books. Classic board books in Spanish. And French. And sometimes even in German. I have always been one of those people who could have no money left in the bank but would still be able to justify buying a huge stack of books. I mean, they’re books, for God’s sake. I cannot get enough of them.
But honestly, don’t you find that there are some kid’s books that are really for the parents? I do. Amongst them are “Counting with Wayne Thiebaud” and “Andy Warhol’s Colors.” I have to admit that at the end of the day when I’m cleaning up and stacking up books, these are two that are often left out on the table. Just in case someone interesting stops by. Because this person might think that I am interesting if they see these books. Because these are really, really cool books. For kids. And for adults.

I just found the Andy Warhol colors book about two weeks ago at our local art museum and was thrilled. I am trying to find ways to bring art and music into our little one’s life and this is a great way to do it!
I’ve never enen heard of these tw books – how uncool am I? Wonder if my 14 year old and 18 year old would mind if I got them each one for Xmas?

D’accordo. Meaning, we are in total agreement on breaking the bank buying books.
And those kids books? I’m ordering them right now.
