We left Denver very early this morning, so that we would be home by lunch. It was our final push, about eight hours in the car. I am amazed at how well my girls handled all of the driving. There was no real fussing or crying, just a little whining here and there, usually because a certain toy fell out of reach of some tiny hands.
Right now, I’m standing in the kitchen on my husband’s laptop. Although it’s dark out, I am now looking out the wall of windows that overlooks the valley below, and the lights in all of the houses are twinkling and it’s so breathtakingly beautiful and I just can’t believe that this is my view now. I hope I don’t ever forget how fortunate we are to call this little town home.
And are you wondering what my husband is doing right now? He ran out to the Home Depot not that long ago and came home with new toilets. He’s replacing toilet #1 right now. So, one down and only four more to go. Can you imagine? He makes fun of me and my “issues,” but he’s the one who is replacing toilets? God love him for it, I just wish he’d take a break. He never stops…

Magical! The lights and the husband replacing all the toilets!!
UTAH???? If it is you are going to love it here. The changing seasons are amazing, and there is just about a million things to do outdoors. I’ve lived here all of my life and I’ve never tired of it…not once.
Wonderful! Congrats on making it there in one piece.
Night time. A wall of windows overlooking a valley below, and the lights in all of the houses are twinkling. Breathtakingly beautiful. The little family safe and warm and cozy inside. This description brought tears to my eyes. May all your days spent in this beautiful new house be beautiful and happy. Have fun adjusting to your new life. What an adventure. =o)
My guess would be maybe Park City or something. . . . Although I was in North Ogden recently and the view from the home was similar at night to the description here.
Okay, I’m guessing you’re in Durango???
So happy for you. Hope all is going just as you imagined. Or even better.
We recently moved to our dream town too. Everytime I look out the window I feel the same as you. Is this real? Our view consists of rolling treetops, a river and a neighbouring farm with horses. The road into town is hilly and curvy, following the river and crossing it twice. I LOVE THIS PLACE. It is good for the heart and soul to live somewhere that brings such joy and gratitude.
I GET it.
Happy for you…
Welcome home! So much for making assumptions… I thought Denver was home! You should all take sometime to relax, it sounded like a LONG drive!
YAY for being HOME!!! I am so excited for you… can’t wait to see photos of your new neighborhood!
Children are amazing… they just seem to “get” when they are going to have to deal with the situation! I’m so glad it was a smooth trip!
He sounds like my own husband who has replaced, by his own little self, three of the four toilets in this home. On another note, take photographs. We want to see the valley, the twinkling lights, the whole shebang. Children can be amazing sometimes. I’m glad they were absolute little troopers. What a relief to know that it wasn’t so hard for them. So glad you made it there safely.
