ahh… sushi…

We were pretty liberal with Pea and food when she was a baby. You know, not afraid to let her try new (and oftentimes spicy) cuisines. I’ve mentioned before that her first restaurant meal was Indian. She was seven months old and that was it for her. It marked the beginning of her life as a foodie.

And Coco? Not much different. Tonight, we went out in town for sushi.

Isn’t that beautiful? Not the baby, the food! Although the baby isn’t bad either, is she? Hard to believe she’s going to be one – ONE – on Sunday! But no, we didn’t feed her the raw stuff. She had Chicken Yakitori and a little ginger and some rice and she couldn’t shovel it in quick enough. Another foodie, for sure.

And look at this one! Working the chopsticks like a pro! Making mama proud… (And again, the Kirin is mama’s…)

How lucky your little girls are that you are sharing so many different cuisines at such a young age, they are going to grow up adventuresome and with a sense of wonder for the world at large. Lucky and cute!!!!

Coco is getting SO big! You must be such a proud mama to have 2 such well-behaved, beautiful little girls! I haven’t tried japanese on Bear yet, but he eats almost anything, so now I’m going to give it a go!

Sushi envy, sushi envy. Children who eat envy, children who eat envy. Even hair envy. Yes, even that…. All I am is one churning green mass of envious thoughts. Oh Melissa… all that snow! I wish I could say I love it but you know how the wind blows with me and winter. Glad to see you are all doing well. Many happy returns to Coco. Milena

    Beautiful food and beautiful daughters!

Josh used to eat EVERYTHING but has become a picky bug…I wonder often if it’s because my diet was so limited during our nursing experience due to his severe acid reflux? I hope it is just a stage. Even if he refuses to eat it, I still serve it.

    Love the pics!

Wow! Your girls are more brave than me. :) I only get as far as a Chicken Tempura or an asparagus roll…which is barely considered sushi.

Good for you, cultivating such adventurous little spirits.

Now I am totally craving sushi. I wish I had been more adventurous with mine when she was little, we seem to be stuck on “chicken nuggets and tench fries”.

I started feeding my kids Indian food from early on also, and now they love it. If you ask Kate what her favorite food is, she’ll answer “Saag Paneer.” We haven’t done so well on introducing sushi, must work on that! And the chopsticks are impressive!

I am drooling all over my laptop…I have been off sushi and Kirin for the last 8 months. Only 2 more weeks until the baby is born…and hello sushi and beer! Well, okay MAYBE I have had a little beer in the last 8 months.

On a completely separate note, I love your hair. I wish I had hair like that. Do you feel the waves of envy rolling over the seas and mountains! :)
