I love giving the girls their end-of-the-day baths. I love it even more when my husband is home and I can bathe them together. It’s much easier when, at the conclusion of the bath, there are two sets of hands, one for each girl.
And it goes without saying that we have a lot of toys for the bath. They’re about the cheapest kind of toys around, and they got a lot of use, and last a really long time. In our old home, I used to corral them in a Frog Pod, but towards the end of our time in Fort Worth, it gave out on us. I suspect it’s because of the weight it was asked to contain every night.

Recently, I started hiding some of the bath toys, like the sticky letters that cling to the tiles, or the islands that you can build and then float around the tub. I plan on switching them out periodically, otherwise it’s just too overwhelming. For me. Post-bath. Too much stuff to put away, and unfortunately I’m not one of those lucky people who can walk away from a room with stuff scattered everywhere. I’m just not. I’m working on becoming that person, but until then, that errant toy will keep me up at night, tossing and turning, until I finally pad down the stairs to whatever room contains the mess and put it back into it’s place. I’m thinking I might need another one of those Frog Pods.
But these little Bath Squirties are my all-time favorite. And I think the girls like them, too. Note the sarcasm intended, because I know they like them! You can drench a whole bathroom in just minutes! So much fun and so cute, although I’m sad to say that the little pink hippo met an early demise at the jaws of our beloved Chamo, may he rest in peace. He had a hard time telling the difference between a dog toy and a kid’s toy… rubber, brightly colored, makes squeaking noises. An easy mistake, for sure.

My two boys are huge fans of the tub toys and, like you, I can’t stand leaving them in the tub all night after their bath. I really should rotate them in and out — thanks for the idea!
I also got rid of almost every bath toy. Honestly, they didn’t need it. Now, they have an Ariel polly pocket doll (they are really into Little Mermaid), and they take turns letting it swim. And a cup. That is IT. I find they are happy in their bath, whether they have 2 toys or 22 toys. So make it easier on yourself!
Plus bath toys get gross after a while and who wants more stuff to keep clean!?
Hi Melissa,
Well having no children, I can’t add much to today’s post….other than to say I really like bubble baths!
I wanted to drop by to let you know that I tagged you today on my blog, with one of those six word memoir memes….can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Dancer,
We LOVE Jack Johnson in our house! He’s a regular on our play list. “Upside Down” is absolutely one of Pea’s favorite songs. Thanks for the recommendation!
We have a frog pod and love it.
Hi M-
Totally off topic, but I thought Pea and Coco (and you) might enjoy this:

It’s kid music that doesn’t really sound like it.
We have those bath squirties, and luckily so, because the Little Dude has been HATING his bath lately, save the squirties. They are my saving grace, and give me the five minutes needed to wash quickly, and get the heck out of there.
The girls look so cute playing the tub together…
I love watching my 2 girls play in the bath together.
Fellow neat freak here. Everything must be put away.
Those bath squirties are sooo cute. I may have to get some, even though our dog also has a problem judging between baby toys and doggy ones.
