It snowed 8 inches here yesterday. No kidding. I am dreaming of warm weather. Of summer camp for Pea and swimming lessons for Coco. Of little cotton dresses and flip-flops. Tanned skin and barbecues. Bike rides and Farmer’s Markets. Sigh.
Just when I thought I couldn’t take another minute of this day, I got word that it’s that time of the year. Time to place my pre-order for my second annual Puella Grab Bag Tote. And it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Puella has to be, hand’s down, one of my favorite clothing lines. Ever. For women and little girls. The fabrics are to die for. No joke. Soft and sumptuous and the most heavenly prints I have ever seen.
I dress my girls in the line. I dress myself in it. It’s all I’d wear, if it were humanly possible.
Last year’s tote consisted of many, many tanks and tee-shirts and pants and the most adorable little dress. I wore the items all summer long. Ten items of clothing… ten!… for $150. This is not a joke! You just cannot beat that. You cannot.
The totes ship in June, but I suggest ordering early if you want to be one of the lucky recipients.
I can’t wait for June to roll around…

Hey listen thanks a lot for the extra information – I appreciate it.

I just ordered a grab bag in size Medium. I am having a “fat day” and so it feels like quite a leap of faith (I am in no way built like you, Melissa!!).
BUT, I did just get a bell sleeve shirred waist Dusty Rose tulip print dress in silk (for a song, I might add) and it is the best dress I have bought in ages – so flattering and FUN! I was so excited about it, I couldn’t sleep last night.
So, thanks again. Fingers crossed for a dress in my grab bag!
Hey Kris,
Actually, last summer I bought the Puella grab bag, too. It had a dress in in that I wrote about on the July 12, 2007 post. There’s a picture of it up there. But the photo doesn’t do it justice. It is my absolute favorite dress. It’s a gorgeous red print of trees in a soft cotton. It’s cut is highly flattering. A v-neck, cap sleeves, a little shirring. It falls really nicely. I was able to wear it only a few months after having my baby when I was still rather large, and I can wear it now, that I am back in a size 4. The clothes stretch nicely and then return to where they originally began. In addition to the dress, I got an adorable shirt with the sweetest bird print that I was able to dress up or down. It had an empire waist and was tunic-length. It looked cute with shorts and jeans. There were several camisoles, also in awesome prints, that had shirring on the sides so they were super-flattering. There were a couple pairs of pants, one linen and one cotton, but I’m not sure if they are including pants in this year’s bag. Hope that helps…

Would you post pictures of what you got in the grab bag? I just bought a dress from this brand and I am very excited about them, but a bit nervous to buy a bunch of stuff (and pay duty – I’m in Canada) and then feel really disappointed if I’m not happy with the lot. However, I think I’d be thrilled if I got a dress in the mix…??? I’d just really like to hear more if you could, please?
Loved the line, had never heard of it. Since it has been all warm here for a while now, I’ve been buying like mad already. Can always use more tank tops though and this is a great deal. I’m 90% convinced already.
I’d never heard of Puella either, but took your advice and checked it out. Adorable! As a very busy mom who tries very hard to dress herself and her daughter stylishly, I’m in love. I ordered a grab bag tote and can’t wait for it to come! Thanks for passing along these great tips!
Thanks for the great tip on Puella — just ordered my grab bag! I’ve never heard of the line before and I checked out the site through your link. Fabulous stuff! Thanks for the tip and stay warm with all of that snow!
um, not to blow my own horn or anything, but I AM THE NICE GIRL! TOOT! TOOT! But I really did want them to know what a great and effective advertiser (?) you are and I wanted you to know that though I don’t post that much, I am such a fan and avid reader of your blog (cue violins).
Tata,

Thanks Melissa.
Thanks for the tip, Melissa. I can’t wait to get it. I ordered mine today. I am always on the look for fresh new tops for the summer. I hope I get some good ones.
Wow, to all your snow. Glad ours is gone. Bean keeps looking out the door & saying, “Snow.” I am happy to tell her, “No, just rain.” Can’t wait for the green, though!
We are supposed to get snow tomorrow too, they say 8″ but it will be gone the next day. That’s what I love about spring snow in CO gone the very next day. From the looks of your photos it might take a while for your snow to melt but when it does your town will be beautiful. I took your reccomendation and purchased the grab bag. How can I pass up 10 items for 15$ a piece. Thanks for letting your blogging friends know about this. I’m excited for them to arrive!
Hi Melissa!
What a value! With all the good budgeting thats been going on I may just snag one up.
Lisa and Nona,
I think the sizes run pretty true to size. That’s been my experience with the line in the past. I really, really think that you will be happy with your goodies. The fabrics are very whimsical and soft and just perfect for summer. But if you have ANY questions re: sizing, I would definitely email them at Puella. They are the nicest girls ever and will help you with whatever you need. Enjoy!
Thanks for the great tip!! I ordered one and I’m hoping I ordered the right size… Would you say the sizes are pretty true? Or do they run big or small? Hopefully the size I ordered works. I am too impulsive! I couldn’t wait to ask about the sizes
The grab bag sounds fabulous!! Does the line run small?? that sounds like so much fun!!
Oooh, doesn’t look like Spring in Utah! Although, I’m still wearing my wool coat in New Jersey, so don’t feel too bad!
How do you know about stuff like these grab bags? That is, perhaps, the COOLEST thing I’ve ever seen. It’s like a little present since you don’t know exactly what you’re getting. I’m trying to find a way to buy one without Hubby finding out…!
Come visit us in the valley! We are supposed to get weather in the high 60s (maybe 70) this weekend. We did get snow on Monday though. Utah is notorious for snow in April.
SNOW? Ugh… Glad you got cheered up.
