skin

Oh, it’s been a while since I’ve made mention of my skin, right? The complete bane of my existence? Well. I have finally gotten the dry skin under control. Maybe a little too under control. Because I now have the opposite problem. Too much oil. Ugh. My skin. I just can’t live with it. Seriously, it was getting so dry and flaky that make-up application was not going smoothly. At all. So I found something richer, something creamier to apply at night. And…

Hello, break-outs. Now this I can deal with. I’ve been fighting break-outs since I was 12. I know what to do here. Buy some ridiculously over-priced line of products, at least four or five, that I must use – one right after the other – or I will null and void the product’s return policy. Nope. Not this time. I am so over it. I am so tired of the skin care regimen that lasts an entire 30 minutes. I’m so tired of going to bed with my face all gooped up. I’m going to the polar opposite. Short, sweet and simple. Oh, and did I mention cheap?

I’ve read about this Biore cleanser in “Real Simple” magazine at least twice now, in the last few months. And I like “Real Simple.” I trust the magazine’s content. So, I bought it.

Loving it. Seriously. I wash my face with it, I feel tingly and clean, my most recent break-out is healing nicely and after applying a little moisturizer only to the dry spots on my face, voila! I am off to bed. Seriously, like 2 minutes.

Simple is better. A lesson I am still learning and applying to all aspects of my life…

Glad to hear it’s behaving for you now, and I’m glad you found a much simpler solution. :)

 Thanks for the tip. My skin is acting so juvenile lately. Maybe Biore will help.

I will have to try this cleanser – I’m devoted to Neutrogena foaming face cleanser, but for whatever reason, it has chosen to revolt on me lately. I love being 30, but having “issues” with my face. Really. I live for it.

And about the “mommy’s helper?” I felt like I went away for a couple of days, and so much happened. We’ll talk this week, but … you are a wonderful mother. We are the only mammals that DON’T follow our instincts IMMEDIATELY. That you did is honorable and a credit to you as a mother, and a compliment to you as a PERSON in general.

30 minutes on your skin with two kids? Good grief. Get yourself some of that old fashioned greasy Nivea and call it a night. I refuse to spend more than 5 minutes on a combination of brush teeth, face and moisturize before bed. I then cross my fingers that I have the same genes as grandma who still had beautiful skin at the age of 84…this, despite decades of cigarettes and copious amounts of Keystone beer.
