I remember when I was a few years into my career and started having enough discretionary income to start shopping at Robinsons-May instead of second hand stores and JC Penny. And later, when I was really rich, I shopped at Macy’s (the sales racks) and places like Ann Taylor Loft in the mall. But I always felt that even though I had enough money to spend on clothes, I couldn’t really find much I wanted to spend my money on. It was like some kind of paradox that I had wanted to have enough money to buy stuff, but once I had it, the expensive stuff didn’t seem all that worthwhile.

But now I realize the problem – I was shopping in the mall! It turns out the awsomely expensive clothes – the ones worth buying – are at obscure little boutiques I needed Melissa the Mouth to tell me about. Where were you when I had a job that paid me money??
