I'm sorry to hear about the lunch bag. Maybe it was flown to lunch bag castle for retired lunch bags?
Those dips sound great too! I may have to try my hand at making them myself.

I'm so glad for this post. My two yr old starts preschool this fall and I've been anxious about what to fix him for lunches. I never thought of dips. This is great. Thanks!

We love hummus at our house too. I like the kind with tahini in it from Trader Joe's. I've never made my own though... thanks for the recipes! Also I just ordered my own customized necklace from Lisa Leonard, thanks for sharing that site.

New bag ... new memories, right? But I do understand about the "firsts". I missed some firsts with my step-daughter but now that I have one of my own, I get it. P. is only 6 months old, but I look at the onesie her Daddy and I brought her home in and realise that she'll never wear it again! That's the end of her first piece of clothing. And it was cute, too. Because I spent so much time searching for that perfect outfit to bring her home in. I may keep it and frame it and hang it in her room; I may cut it up and use parts of it for a quilt for her. Decisions decisions.
