Perusing the aisles of my local Rite-Aid, I did something I rarely do. I checked out the make-up aisle. And I say rarely because, honestly, I have skin issues, and my previous jaunts to this area have found me in deep, deep regret. But how wrong can you go with lip products, right?
Apparently, you can be right. So very, very right.
Carmindy? Who doesn’t know that name? Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve surely seen an episode, or two, of “What Not to Wear,” right? (Total non-sexual crush on Clinton Kelly here…) Well, she has a line out. Or something like that. With Sally Hansen. Perhaps she’s the guest make-up person designing a line? Oh, who knows. I think that normally, these famous make-up artists just lend their ‘names’ to a line, and then cash in the fat royalty checks, while we – the buyers – look in our mirrors, new product applied, and think, “what the…?”
But I love her new lip balm. You know, I’m not into much more than a ChapStick-type product. I’m not into gloss. I prefer my hair not to be glued to my lips while I’m having a conversation with someone. And lipstick? Ugh. Yucky taste, chalky color, too obvious for this woman.
But balm? Tinted balm? Perfection. Sheer perfection.
Prior to finding this balm, from Sally Hansen (who I thought of as the “nail lady”), it was Neutrogena Shine Lip Balm in “Clean” for me. But I’ve moved on. To “Shimmering Nude.” Courtesy of Carmindy. Love it. Love, love, love it. Sheer, subtle, fresh. Under $10. Ideal for me, the “Cherry ChapStick is all I need” chick.
Found it at Rite-Aid. Check it out…

I’ve got to try this too! Love What Not to Wear, and Clinton.
Sounds like a great product, I love my chapstick…and I NEVER wear lipstick.
Oh I’ll have to try it. I’m so a lip gloss junkie!
