pearls of wisdom? maybe just pearls of childish abandon…

When my husband returned from China, there were so many gifts for the girls. Really, it was ridiculous. And I know, I get it. Six weeks is a long time. And aside from the postcards that arrived nearly every day for Pea and Coco, from Beijing, there was not a lot of room to let those little girls know how much their Daddy was missing them. I mean, sure. There were phone-calls on the webcam. Phone-calls on the landline. But for tiny tots? It was the brand-new suitcase stuffed to overflowing with cool stuff from China that spoke to them.

But the favorite? The one that tickled us the most? Two kites. A butterfly and a dragon. Still awaiting kite string. But sitting in VIP focal points in our home. So colorful, so detailed. So childish and yet so sophisticated.

Seriously, if you never fly these things? No problem. They are art, in and of themselves. Definite conversation pieces.

And while the only way you might get the originals is to take a very long flight to China, check out these kites on Pearl River. Kite string or not, these are very cool…
