I was on Amazon, poking around, searching for a new kitchen timer, some dish towels and a few other miscellaneous items for the kitchen. I didn’t find them. But I did learn that Macy’s sells via Amazon, and Macy’s just happens to be the home of the Doyenne of Simple & Elegant Style, none other then Martha Stewart.
You just knew that I’d find some items that I couldn’t live without, right? Remember my list? Of simplicity? It’s still front and center. And front and center of the list that is front and center were bowls for prepping food. We always need more of those. They chip, they break, they go home with a friend’s husband who’s wife is out-of-town on vacation, full of leftovers, never to be seen again.
I love to cook. My husband loves to cook. Even Pea is getting in on the culinary adventures these days. So, new bowls it was…
I went with a lovely shot of bright color, for the gal who loves to be surrounded by a calm and neutral palette of colors only seen in nature (save for the artwork, of course…), which I found in the melamine bowl set. I also ordered a set of the smaller prep bowls. Lastly, I went with Martha’s set of pinch bowls. I am, you see, one of those extremely compulsive chefs. I do all of my prep work first, because at the point of cooking, we are usually in the throes of entertaining, and so if I am in our kitchen, throwing the pots and pans on the stove, while my guests are seated with their cocktails at the island counter, I want everything to be neatly organized in it’s own little ‘home’ until I am ready for it. And these three sets of bowls will help me do just that. And while I am preparing out feast du jour, my guests will “ooh” and “ahh” over the colorful array of organization at my fingertips.
I like “oohs” and “ahhs.”
