miracles really do happen

The one beauty product I refuse to live without (excluding lip balm) is my Touche Eclat, by YSL. This stuff is a miracle in a bottle. Well, tube, actually. Or pen.

I am lucky not to have dark circles around my eyes, or lines, or puffiness. I equate that to my obsession with eye cream, since I was about 16. (Thanks, mom.) But every so often, the morning after not having had enough sleep, I need a little extra something around the eyes. Not concealer, but just a ‘lift.’ And that’s where my Touche Eclat comes in.

It brightens and camouflages like nothing else I’ve ever used. There’s something about the formula that reflects light off of the skin, making it seem bright and healthy, rather than dark or pale or tired.

I’ve also used it on little spots, and it works there, too. Not necessarily covering them up, but just deflecting from them. I don’t know how this stuff works. I don’t really care. I just know that YSL better never stop making it. Or I will be in big trouble.

    Rachael –

Thanks for the kind words! I am also fair, but with yellow undertones. I use #2, which is the ivory shade. I think it’s the perfect shade for my skin. The #1 shade (luminous) is fair with what I would say are pink undertones. If you burn in the sun, I would think this is the shade for you. If you tan in the sun, I’d go with #2. And I think #3 is for someone who has darker skin to begin with – more of a beige/olive complexion. If you log onto Nordstrom’s website, you can see swatches of the 3 shades, that might make your decision a little easier. But honestly, with fair skin, I don’t think that you can go wrong with #1 or #2. (And by the way, I think that Sephora is carrying this now, and they always show color swatches of the actual products, so you should check them out, too. And they have free shipping over $50!)

I am VERY interested in this product as I have very light skin and don’t always get the sleep I need. When I followed your link I found the product comes in 3 colors – peach, ivory and radiance. I’m thinking the peach would be a bit pinker, ivory more yellow, but any guess on the radiance?
Thanks for the help. I LOVE your blog and try to keep up with it! You are the mom I hope to be someday :-)
    Thanks again, Rachael
