I’ve been checking out Target lately. The inventory at the mega-store just keeps getting better and better. Have you seen their make-up aisles? Impressive. Especially for a beauty product junkie, such as myself. But it’s the clothes that are striking me. After learning a lesson the hard way, I realize that my day-to-day clothes for hanging with my girls 1) must not be dry-clean only, and 2) must withstand the following: snotty noses, stray crayon and marker smudges, tomato sauce and baby oil. That being the case, they must also be 3) reasonably priced, but 4) look good, too.
Enter Target.
As this is the season for sweaters in my neck of the woods, the following are worthy of any well-dressed mommy out there who fits the bill described above:
The Mossimo Black Shawl Cardigan. Perfect for staying in on a snowy day? No need to live in sweats just because you’re not leaving the house…
Mossimo Black Drapery Cardigan. I have several sweaters in this style, and the possibilities are endless. Every woman, in my opinion, should have at least one. And this one is a good start.
The Merona Shirred Neck Cardigan. It’s lady-like and proper, but layered over a white tee-shirt, worn with blue jeans and a pair of worn-in Chuck’s, it’s not so lady-like and proper. Love it.
The Mossimo Supply Co. Shawl Collar Coat is right up my alley. I want to crawl into it. I want to live in it. But it’s junior sized, so make an allowance for an extra size up. Or two. Just try it on. You’ll figure it out. You’ll also figure out that you, too, will want to live in it.
Mossimo Black Shawl Wrap. I love love love the sleeves. And the ‘extra wine’ shade is so rich, particularly against pale winter skin.
The Mock-Neck Cardigan is to-die-for. Take a look. Enough said.
Then pick up a pair of the Kyan Fringe Boots. Under $40. A worthy knock-off of the much, much more expensive versions in the designer boutiques.
You can easily walk out of there with a bagful of gorgeous sweaters for under $100. That’s a steal. A really good-looking steal. My favorite kind.

I love their clothes…though sometimes I’m hit and miss with them. I love the black and brown Merona cami tanks. I love those things. I only wish they came in other colors too.
I too have found Target clothes hit or miss. I’ve avoided sweaters since the Merino wool sweater I bought my husband has pilled terribly after 4 or 5 wearings (and could have found a better quality on sale somewhere else for a similar price). I’d love to know how these hold up to the wash/wear test.
I have been a fan of Target, however when it comes to clothes from there I have two concerns, which have made my purchases hit or miss: 1) the quality or ‘feel’ of the fabric or knit, and 2) how does it look after it’s been washed?
They are all lovely picks. I’ve never purchased clothes at Target for fear that they’ll ruin once they’ve been washed. Do you own any of these pieces and have they passed the wash test??
