The sun here is bright. So bright. I realized that today, as I was driving around in my eyeglasses. Which I have to wear because I’m 2) blind as a bat, and 2) suffering from pink eye, which 3) precludes me from wearing my contact lenses. Which stinks, because 1) the sun here is blinding in the afternoon, and 2) the glare through the windshield of the car renders me as good as blind, and 3) throw in the added brightness of the sun first bouncing off of the bright white snow before blazing through my windshield, and I really, really should not be driving on the streets.
The girls both wear sunglasses. Pea does so willingly. She’s three going on 30, and thinks that they make her look even older than that. As in more mature. As in, “hey! I’m cooler than you are!” Which she just might be. Talk about confidence.
Coco is new to sunglasses. And sunglasses on a normal kid, who doesn’t spend a half-hour dressing herself in the morning, can be tricky. About as tricky as, say, a hat on a toddler head. They always come off, right? Except that Coco is pretty good with the hats. And so, we had high hopes for the tiny toddler shades that were about to adorn her face, protecting those pretty little baby blues.
Of course, I did my research. Years ago, when Pea needed her first pair. And so, once again, we went with the Julbo Looping Sunglasses. For little ones. These things are virtually indestructible. Pea’s have been through the ringer. Over and over and over. Twisted. Sat on. Jumped on. Thrown out the car window into a sandy mess on the ground. Left behind in restaurants. And rental cars. Worn on top of her head. Stretched over her shirt sleeve. As an ankle bracelet. On her teddy bear. As a belt – almost. You name it, and it’s been done to her Julbos. Which is how we knew that we’d be getting a second pair for little Coco. You can see Coco’s in this picture. So stinking cute. And practical. And worth the money.

Those are awesome! Definitely keeping that tucked away in my head for later.
Hi Melissa! I’ve been so busy and sick with the flu that I don’t get a chance to read my blogs! But I’ve been cursing my toddlers’ sunglasses–the Children’s Place ones hold up pretty well, but Carter’s not so much. I’ll definitely be checking these out—as usual, you come to my rescue.
Hugs, S
