butterfly

Coco is passionate about butterflies. She’s constantly talking about them, pointing them out in pictures, giving me butterfly kisses with her impossibly long eyelashes.

So one of her birthday gifts was a little collector’s case with a dozen butterflies in it. And for a week, she dragged that box of butterflies with her everywhere she went. And then, the box fell apart. It was bound to happen.

And since I knew she wasn’t going to stop toting those butterflies of hers around, I knew we needed something sturdier.

And I hit the jackpot.

I’ve seen this little tin pail around before. I’ve had my eye on it for a while. I love clever and interesting storage solutions, especially when it comes to kid’s stuff. We had to have it.

I cannot emphasize enough how awesome this little pail is. It’s sturdy, it’s practical, and it’s just about the most adorable thing I’ve laid eyes on in a very long time. And I’ve seen it in other places for more than twice what I paid for it from domestikate, a little Etsy shop, which is, coincidentally, run by one of the nicest sellers I’ve come across since my love affair with Etsy began. I’m telling you, this pail is not easy to come by, and when – and if – you are lucky enough to stumble across one, you’re not going to get it for as good a price as you are here.

    Heather –

The sweater is actually from the kid’s section of Zara International. Not all of the stores carry the kid’s line, but if you can locate one, it’s worth a trip to check it out. The clothes are adorable, and pretty well-priced, too. I don’t have the patience to navigate their website, so I can’t confirm this, but I don’t think that you can shop online. You have to go into an actual store.

Those butterflies are great, and the pail is so cute to fill with little treasures!

What I reeeeeeeally must have is Coco’s sweater with the bell sleeves from your flickr set!!! I am guessing etsy?

We have those butterflies too! Unfortunately, I paid a lot more for them at some “boutique” type toy shop at the beach. Oh well, my daughter loves them.

If Coco likes butterflies, you should check out Insect Lore. You can send for a kit that starts out with the tiny caterpillars and then observe the metamorphosis– front row. Releasing the butterflies at the end is so exciting!

    Great experience for kids.
