lousy ending to an otherwise great day…

What a phenomenal day I had with the family: hiking, making bookshelves, reading new books, dinner out at our favorite restaurant. The weather was incredible, and now? Both children are tucked into their respective beds, and it’s lights out. They are exhausted. I love it when the day ends this way!

What is not so lovable is the uncertain fate of my absolute favorite shop on Etsy. I’ve written about Rocker Baby before, I’ve bought dresses for the girls from Matilda and Russell’s shop, and I think it’s fair to say that I am their number one fan. So it’s with a heavy heart that I pass on that I heard from the designer today that her shop has been indefinitely removed from Etsy.

Bummer? That’d be an understatement.

Suffice it to say that you can’t please everyone. The details of what happened? I don’t know, and it doesn’t matter to me. I can only go by what I know of Rocker Baby, and that’s always been nothing short of a top-notch experience.

In a nutshell, if you have ever bought one of Rocker Baby’s gorgeous items of clothing for your kid, and your experience was a good one, then you can do something really great for Rocker Baby, and email Etsy at support@etsy.com and let them know how much you’d like them to bring Rocker Baby back.

I don’t worry that I’ll never be able to buy something for my girls again from Rocker Baby, I know they’ll set up shop elsewhere. It’s the convenience of having them on Etsy, the fact that they’ve established a loyal clientele that have now been alienated that saddens me.

I sent my email to Etsy, hoping you can do the same…

    i would like toreply to what Remie has been saying in a coupple of other blogs also
    All of our items are handmade by me on time of purchase , so yes it takes a while to make them , that is the art of handmade , you can have something in 2 days or a week , but what i am proud of is the quality of my clothing , they are impeccably made and no one has ever complaind about the quality ,
    time frame is something else , so i always say i rather wait for something that i like for my boys to have , then go somewhere to get an item in 2 days and have it come apart in a week .

    I would also Prefere if you would not go from blog to blog and state your opinion , you can make a suggestion directly to our web site , :)

    this is the best place to come to when you need something cleared out , this is what happend to etsy
    We have recently confronted Esty about their own violation of their own policies , they violated every right that a seller has , they went against their feedback system which there are not supposed to do , etsy runs thing in a very unprofessional way and does not like to be confronted about anything , when it comes to sellers requiring explanation about their actions they do not like that so we have confronted them and they closed our shops , they have yet to respond to 135 petitions from our costumer’s and demanding to have our shops re-open , in this case they have violated the buyers right to shop with whom ever they choose to , we have been insulted by etsy many times as we did not want to take their abuse , we as sellers have the right to cancel an order and refund that purson , well etsy is not up to that as they like to get their cut , and not care about their sellers , we may be late with orders but we always deliver an amazing quality product , and that is what makes me proud , it is hand made ,

    We are very happy to be away from this site , and start our own web site , it is such a breath of fresh air

    And we shop to see you in our new shop, and thank you so much for being there for us and your support

    I got the same message from Matilda. I couldn’t believe it. My daughter’s love their Rockerbaby dresses! I sent a message to Etsy as well. They have a great shop, hopefully Etsy realizes they made a mistake. You can’t please everybody and some people are never happy. Hundreds of happy customers shouldn’t have to pay because of one difficult person.
