coolest dad ever…

The girls received a package in the mail today. Totally unexpected, especially since our youngest just had a banner birthday party celebration week, and I thought it was finally over. But Daddy clearly had something else entirely in mind…

And after several hours of sitting at the dining room table and designing the most fabulous fashions ever, I can honestly say that our guy did a bang-up job with the Harumika kits he ordered for the girls. Are you familiar? Barbie-sized (but nothing to do with Barbie!) dress forms, assorted fabrics and accoutrements and a handy little tool (totally dull, no injuries to be had) that you use to ’stuff’ the extra fabric into the back of the dress form, thereby creating amazingly draped ‘outfits’ that just are too awesome for words. He ordered ours from Amazon, but you can probably find them at Target, too. They take clever hands-on entertainment to a whole new level. And although they say 6+ on the box, my just-turned-three-year old was able to put a fabulously chic black floor-length velvet ensemble together that any stylish Parisian woman would have been thrilled to wear out for an evening of fine wine and good conversation with a very suave and mysterious gentleman friend.

Seriously, I cannot wait to get back to these miniature dress forms and come up with some more creations. We’re talking mad fun here.

Those are awesome! I wish my daughter was old enough to do them. She wouldn’t have the first clue though.

I just saw these at Target a couple of days ago. Wouldn’t have given them a second glance if I hadn’t read about them on here first and recognized the name! My daughter is a bit low on patience for that sort of thing (so far) but they do look incredibly cool.
